Ironman Training

cda2011team2

The Club Emerald IronCrew selects an Ironman event each year and focuses their base, preparation and peak training to this ultimate test of physical endurance and celebration of the human spirit.

The IronCrew is run as a separate team with the chosen event dictating our training schedule. We will spend 18-22 weeks with dedicated training pointing toward our goal event. The months leading up to the kick-off of our training will be filled with base training and conditioning to ensure the best season possible. We will have many opportunities to integrate our training with the Club Emerald Triathlon Team.

Included in your team fees:

  • Detailed individualized training plan based on your one on one consultation with your coaches.
  • Individual pre-paid account with workoutlog.com for dissemination of your training plan, logging of training sessions and immediate communication with your coach.
  • Weekly PRIVATE pool time with just you, your teammates and your coach.
  • Unlimited access via email and/or phone with your coach. Prompt response and rapid turn around guaranteed.
  • Hands on swim, bike and run coaching. We are literally there with you every step of the way.
  • Optimal heart rate and power training and testing.
  • Individualized strength training program.

  • Race weekend/day strategy, tapering and general "ease the jitters" advice.
  • Indoor cycle training in the case of inclement weather. NO excuses for not getting our hours in.
  • Unparalleled team support and camaraderie.

2005, 2006 and 2007 saw us head east of the mountains to Ironman Coeur d'Alene. 2008 sent us to a change of venue as we chose to venture to Ironman Arizona. 2009 took us back to Coeur d'Alene where we had a very successful, albeit cold and wet day. In 2010 and 2011 we tackled both Ironman Coeur d'Alene and Ironman Canada. This test of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run will bring out every possible human emotion as we train for and ultimately conquer this unbelievable race of all races.

2012 finds us with teammates preparing for a return trip to Ironman Coeurd'Alene. This is sure to be another record breaking year for our Ironcrew. PRs take note . . . we are coming after you!
